The foundations of corporate value

Strategic Capital

Strategic capital

A company’s value is built on many foundations, with many forms of strategic capital.

Products & Opportunities

Products and opportunities

Intellectual property is the economic driver of today’s modern economy.[3] It is complex, and it takes discipline. MarkCrest provides the management and expertise to develop these critical assets into products, and to identify opportunities.

Focus: Assets & Policies

Focus on your assets and policies

An action plan for the company’s IP, and policies that protect it.

Your advisor will analyze your situation and give you a dynamic, personal action plan, set goals, and build a strategy that evolves as markets change. MarkCrest can help you identify the resources you need to build and access funding channels, build support for worldwide licensing models, and analyze your needs, including:

  • Financial programs targeted to your intellectual property’s needs
  • Marketing options that let you save and invest for immediate priorities and long-term objectives
  • Joint and cross-marketing opportunities, to build a diversified licensing portfolio
  • Exclusive market and research commentary, to help you make informed decisions

MarkCrest can work with you and turn your ideas into reality.

Once you have created a plan, put protocols in place, personally or across the company, for managing your newly protected IP. Read Step 4: Policies.

Steps: Create Value

The company’s path through the ten steps

Create

Step 1: Idea

The starting point is an idea, a vision, an architecture: the intellectual property that may be unique, and could be valuable if protected.

Protect

Step 2: Protect

Is the idea unique? If it is, you need to decide how to build a framework that protects it.

Then plan

Step 3: Plan

Life goes on and things happen, even after your IP is protected. What you have created and protected needs attention too.

Next: Value Protect

Protecting value, all the way to monetization

Steps 3 to 7: Plan, policies, access, agreements, ownership

Now come the important steps to monetization. Plan, and create policies around your intellectual property. Understand what access means and how to protect it. Create agreements that protect access and value. Document ownership.

Steps 8 to 10: Audits, infringement, documentation

Audit your intellectual property and the status of each asset. Understand what infringement means, and the best way to approach it, whether you are infringing or being infringed. Documentation will ultimately be the most important piece of the monetization process: think of it as a documented audit trail.
